Clara has been a qualified Veterinary Surgeon since 2023 after studying at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, University of Edinburgh. After graduating from Edinburgh, Clara completed an 18-month rotating internship at Hird & Partners Equine Hospital in Shelf, Halifax. Following her internship, Clara started her current position at Churchfield Equine Clinic in February 2025.
Clara enjoys both routine ambulatory work and spending time in our clinic conducting further investigations. She is also our designated anaesthetist and is actively involved with caring for any in-patients we might have staying with us. Her main areas of interest are stud medicine and poor performance - Clara is always eager to support clients looking to breed from their mare or those struggling with ongoing lameness.
Clara is a keen horse rider and has enjoyed competing over the years in both showing and dressage, including reserve champion at The Horse of the Year Show. She particularly enjoys breeding and producing her own youngstock.
In her spare time Clara enjoys walking with her Spaniel ‘Rolo’ and helping out on the family farm.
