Equine Zone and Yard Visits

Interested in a Yard Visit?

Equine Zone and Yard Visit Schemes

In addition to our usual visits, we offer  zone and yard visit schemes These are for routine work such as vaccinations, blood sampling, routine dental work, passports, microchips and non-urgent consultations/examinations.

The cost of the service provided e.g. vaccinations, etc will be charged on top of the zone visit fee at the standard price. The scheme has been devised to reduce costs for our clients, and to improve the efficiency of our time.

Yard Visits

Any yard that has three or more horses requiring a visit on the same day will have the visit fee completely waived. Zone scheme terms and conditions (see below) will still apply to yard visits and will require 24hr notice. Yard visits may be allocated to any suitable day depending on availability.

If you don’t wish to use this scheme, you can still book a standard visit on any day as usual.

For appointment and advice, call 01226 763 542

Address: Heeley Inn Farm, Barnsley Road, Hoylandswaine, Penistone, Sheffield, S36 8AA
Opening hours: Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm

How Much Will It Cost?

Any pre-booked zone visit will be charged at £30.00 incl. vat. If there are two owners on the same yard booking a visit, the cost will be £15.00 incl. vat each. For yard visits see below. Payments for zone and yard visits will be payable on or before the day of the visit. Prepayments are mandatory if you will not be present or another person is dealing with your horse on the day, failure to do this will result in your visit being cancelled. We accept cash or card, unfortunately we do not carry change and your account will be credited with any overpayments.

How to Book a Zone Visit?

Zone visits have been divided into four areas and will be covered Tuesday to Friday. To find out which day of the week your area is in, please look at the map or contact the Equine Clinic on 01226 763542. The Zone area will be determined by where the stable is situated, and not by where you live.

Zone Map

The visits are booked on a first come, first served basis, and the number of visits may be limited on the day. We may get fully booked some weeks in advance, therefore early booking is recommended.

  • Each Zone Visit is required to be booked by 4pm the day before, this must be done on the last working day prior to the visit. This means that Zone Visits on Tuesdays following a Bank Holiday must be booked by 4pm on the previous Friday.
  • Appointments cannot be made on the day of your desired Zone Visit. We will not be able to offer you a specific time for the Zone Visit but can offer you morning or afternoon, and the allocated zone visit vet will ring you nearer the time of the visit.
  • To make it easier to administer, the practice will allocate a vet for your zone day, you can’t request a specific vet. Visits with your preferred vet will still be available at the standard visit price, subject to availability.
  • We strongly recommend case continuity and therefore ideally the vet who first attends should continue to monitor your horse’s progress and its response to treatment. For this reason, re-examinations of on-going cases are not recommended on Zone Visits.
